ULI Mexico Council Fall Meeting will continue to foment real estate development ties between the US and Mexico.
MEXICO CITY, Mexico - September 1, 2003 - Today Contact Development Corporation (CDC), based in San Francisco, CA, with Latin American headquarters in Mexico City, announced that its President, Brett Ellsworth, as Co-Chair for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Mexico Council, will direct the ULI Mexico Council Trends Meeting in Mexico City. The Council will convene at the JW Marriott Hotel in Mexico City's exclusive Polanco district on October 14-15, 2003, in Mexico City. The confirmed Key Note Speaker for the event will be Mexico City's Mayor, the Hon. Manuel Lopez Obrador, and the Conference theme is "Managing Sustainable Development in Mexico City". The ULI Mexico Council serves as a forum for networking, sharing ideas and generating stronger business relationships within both the Mexican and International real estate communities.
CDC and the ULI Continue to Lead the Way to Success
The first ULI Mexico Council Meeting was held at the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City on February 10-11, 2003, with the participation of over 75 Mexican and American real estate executives, including Richard Rosen and Stan Watters, President and Vice President of ULI, respectively, as well as John McCarthy, Director General of FONATUR, (Fondo Nacional para el Fomento del Turismo / Mexican National Trust for Touristic Development), Pedro Aspe, President of Protego (former Secretary of Finance of Mexico), John Newcomb, Principal at KMD Architects and Co-Chair of the ULI Mexico Council with Mr. Ellsworth.
Top Mexican and international executives are expected to attend this second ULI Mexico Council Meeting, which will address issues such as current real estate trends in Mexico City, and how recent House and Senate elections will effect city and state real estate regulations.
Ellsworth Shares his Experience
Mr. Ellsworth has been an active ULI Member since 1991, and has spoken at several ULI Conferences over the years, on topics such as "Mexico: Development and Investment Trends" at the Urban Land Institute's Fall Meeting at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, in November 2002, and "Latin American Projects and Issues: Punta Mita" at the Urban Land Institute's Latin America Conference on Opportunities in Real Estate Investment and Development at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami, Florida, in May 2000. Mr. Ellsworth has also published numerous articles regarding real estate development and investment in Mexican and the U.S., such as "Full Circle: Mexico's Tourism Industry has Come Full Circle", published in the August 2001 issue of Urban Land Magazine, the monthly real estate magazine published by the ULI.
